CrossFit Games 2021 have arrived and many CrossFit Games 2021 competitors are thrilled. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. We all know about the Reebok's equipment, Pegboard contest, cutting system, and women's event. However, we don't know much. Continue reading to learn more! Don't forget the CrossFit news page to get the latest information about the competition.
The competition for women
The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

CrossFit Games is a training program that focuses on 10 general fitness skills. These include strength, flexibility, power and speed as well as cardiovascular endurance. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. The Pegboard was a fierce competition that left the athletes feeling proud of their accomplishments.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. Although it's not as drastic as previous Games, it is still quite different from this year. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.
This year's CrossFit Games team includes 236 competitors, making it the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.
Equipment from Reebok
Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They can be used for multiple fitness goals. Reebok claims this shoe is "the shoe that will fit all your fitness needs," but it's more like a regular training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoes are responsive thanks to the firm midsole and RopePro technology.

CrossFit and Reebok's partnership will end in 2020. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok will not fund the Games' prize pool, but it will still make all the equipment and apparel worn by athletes, even the Reebok gear. However, Reebok CrossFit Games will no longer be called the company.

Yes. Alcohol can increase energy expenditure and speed up recovery, as well as reduce soreness.

Alcohol can also cause dehydration which can lead to a slower metabolism. You may also experience a reduction in testosterone production which can lead to decreased muscle-building potential.
For these reasons, women shouldn't drink alcoholic beverages before working out. Women who are heavily alcoholic should wait at minimum 24 hours before starting to work out.
Nursing mothers should abstain from alcohol as much as they can.
Men should only consume one drink per day.
Is Cardio Better Than Strength Training?
Both are equally excellent. Cardio is better if you are looking to build muscle faster.
Cardio burns more calories in a minute than strength training and more fat.
