CrossFit Games 2021 have arrived and many CrossFit Games 2021 competitors are thrilled. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. Women's competition

This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. This was the first Games event for women and the women's team hoped to finish the podium.

The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard competition at Crossfit Games 2021 was the first. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. There were many ties throughout the contest, but ToomeyOrr was the dominant force that won the contest.

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. The Pegboard contest tests a competitor's grip strength and coordination. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. After completing the Pegboard, the competition was intense and athletes felt a sense of accomplishment.


Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.

This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. The top 30 then compete in a sprint couplet to determine the top ten. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.

Reebok equipment

Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok will not fund the Games' prize pool, but it will still make all the equipment and apparel worn by athletes, even the Reebok gear. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.

Step Tests

Step tests are simple yet effective methods of measuring cardiovascular fitness. These are based on your weight and age, they require you to run or walk on a track.

These tests are easy, inexpensive, and accessible almost anywhere. You could, for instance, run on a treadmill for two minutes, rest for one minute, and then go back to the starting point for 20 minutes. Throughout the session your heart rate should not exceed a specified range.

This method is known by the "Bruce Protocol". Bruce, himself a runner developed this protocol when he realized his heart rate didn't rise when he ran long distances.
