Group fitness is an excellent way to lose weight and meet new people. USF Recreation & Wellness offers free group fitness classes on campus. There are many classes available, from Total Body Fitness to Yoga. They are all nationally certified and will give a challenging yet rewarding workout to all levels of fitness. No matter if you are a beginner or an experienced pro, there is a class that will suit you.

While the gym remains open to the public via the internet, Group Fitness classes are virtual through Microsoft Teams. The schedule and other pertinent information will be posted here. All Group Fitness classes are open to all, and there is no need for you to make reservations. Online registration is possible or you can use a kiosk in our lobby. If a class has more than one sign-up, participants can register as "Stand-bys" until five minutes before the class begins. If they have falsely claimed their information, anyone who doesn't sign up will get their membership back.


There are many classes offered through Campus Recreation. Some classes can be found in the Campus Recreation Center, or at the WELL Fitness Center. Some are streamed through Microsoft Teams, so participants don't have to travel to another location to join the class. While in-person classes are open to all students on campus they can be restricted in their number. If they are required to meet at the WELL or another private location, some groups may choose to meet at a separate location.

Group Fitness also offers Group Cycle, a unique feature. This unique indoor cycling class tests riders' speed and resistance to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Its MyWellness App makes it easy to track your cardio workouts. Cycle Concert Series lets patrons see their favorite musicians live while a new artist is presented each week. These programs are great for anyone who wants to work out without causing any inconvenience to others.
